Oscar Piastri or Lando Norris – Who’s Gonna Win the 2025 Emilia Romagna GP?
Oscar Piastri has been fantastic this season, winning four of the six races of the 2025 Formula 1. Three of those wins happened in the last three races, most recently at the Miami Grand Prix.

With victory in Miami, he became the first McLaren driver to win three consecutive races since Mika Häkkinen in 1998 🏆🏆🏆 pic.twitter.com/3DtY1jTJES
He’s a fantastic driver, but his success is also the result of driving a great car – McLaren MCL39. The same model is used by his McLaren colleague, Lando Norris, who’s currently sitting just behind Piastri in the World Drivers’ Championship standings.
The UK driver has won just one race this season – the 2025 F1 season opener – but has done okay in most other races as well. In the most recent race, he finished second. It was his best finish since the third event of the season.
Can Max Verstappen Get Back on the Winning Track?
Just a year ago, Max Verstappen was thought of as the undisputed king of motorsports. However, in 2025, he doesn’t look capable of defending his title. His car has caused him a lot of trouble this season and he himself has some blame to carry for poor performance.
The word “poor” might seem too harsh, but if he wants to challenge the 2025 title, he needs to do much, much better. In the last race, for example, he finished fourth despite winning the pole position.
He needs to do better this time around, and based on his performances in Imola, he will. The thing is that this guy has won each of the three Emilia Romagna GPs held so far (2021, 2022, and 2024).
2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix
Our prediction is that the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix will get a new king on May 18. Verstappen hasn’t been himself in 2025 and we just can’t see him winning at Imola. Instead, we’re almost certain that one of the two McLaren drivers will win.
So, who will it be – Oscar Piastri or Lando Norris? We just have to pick the Aussie driver as he’s been nothing short of brilliant so far in 2025.
Pick: Oscar Piastri
