Kyle Larson Going for “Double Duty”
Double Duty a.k.a. Memorial Day Double or Indy-Charlotte Double is arguably the biggest challenge in motorsports. A driver needs to complete the Indy 500 in the early afternoon, then sit on a plane and go from Indiana to North Carolina to compete at the Coca-Cola 600.
So far, five drivers attempted the feat, but only one managed to complete all 1,100 miles. It was done by Tony Stewart in 2001.

What’s interesting is that no driver who attempted Double Duty managed to win either of those races. However, based on betting odds, we might see Kyle Larson do it this Memorial Day Weekend.
He’s one of the top favorites to win the race in Indianapolis, but will he actually pull it off? To see what we think, make sure to read our 2025 Indy 500 prediction. What do we think about his chances at Charlotte Motor Speedway? He probably won’t win the 2025 Coca-Cola race.
Coca-Cola 600 – The Crown Jewel William Byron’s Dreaming Of
William Byron tends to do very well at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the evidence being that he finished in the Top 4 in each of the last four editions of the Coca-Cola 600. He would’ve gone 4-for-4 if it weren’t for a group collision in the 2022 race.
What’s interesting is that although he’s done great in this race, he’s never won it. The closest he got was the No. 2 place two years ago, while last year, he finished third.
Byron is definitely due for a win on this racetrack. In fact, he’s overdue for a win in 2025 as he’s without a single triumph since the season opener.
In the last two races of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series, he finished outside the Top 10, which is what cost him the No. 1 spot in the Drivers’ Championship. Kyle Larson overtook him, but a win at Coca-Cola 600 would get him back to the top.
2025 Coca-Cola 600 Prediction
We have two predictions for the 2025 Coca-Cola 600. The first one is that Kyle Larson won’t win this race. We’re not even sure he’s going to compete in this event because of his Indy 500 duties. So, if you were planning to back him to triumph in Charlotte, don’t do it!
A driver we think you should back to win the Coca-Cola 600 on May 25 is William Byron. Although this race is hard to predict, we think this guy stands the best chance of winning. Not only does this event suit him, but he’s desperate for a win. So, expect Byron to take this race super seriously.
Pick: William Byron
