A popular adage has it that it’s only unhappy people who play the lottery. Yet, for one Mississauga woman who split a $60-million prize pool with her co-workers, this may not be true.

Millionaire Lottery Winner Does It Again – Almost

After winning the eye-watering amount, Trang Pham continued to play the lottery, and she has won a second time, all on her own! Playing the Instant Golden Multiplier game, the lottery-minted millionaire scooped a $250,000, a still respectable amount even if a far cry from the original $12 million stake she secured in the original win from several months ago.

But just because the win was smaller, it doesn’t mean the feeling wasn’t one of elation and joy: It’s unbelievable. It feels like I was struck by lightning twice in one year. You have to smack yourself just to make sure it’s real.”

Pham, though, did not intend to win. She just had a quick stop at a gas station and decided to scoop up a few tickets, one of which turned out to pay a $250,000 prize. It was completely unbelievable, she said, with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation similarly chuffed at her win.

Michigan Man Also Strikes Gold in Unexpected Way

Lottery wins tend to strike out of nowhere. A man in Michigan, the United States, recently scooped a $500,000 payout after the shop he visited had sold the tickets for the game he originally intended to play.

The shop assistant offered him an alternative game and ticket, which the anonymous person purchased, and to his surprise, he won the six-figure sum of a lifetime.
