One UK player has won the jackpot of a lifetime, after they secured the National Lottery’s Wednesday prize of £13.3 million, approximately $17.87 million. The sole winner is still anonymous, but there are details about how he came to be in possession of the ticket for the “Must Be Won” Lotto jackpot.

Single Ticket Scoops the Must-Win Jackpot, No Player Has Stepped Forward

For example, the numbers are a matter of public record: 2, 5, 22, 35, 44, 54, and a bonus number of 23. Allwyn, the current operator of the National Lottery, has been able to confirm that only one ticket matched those numbers.

Andy Carter, a spokesperson for the lottery and a senior winners’ advisor, also issued a statement:

“A single player has banked the £13.3 million jackpot in tonight’s draw, kicking off 2026 in style – imagine the new year’s bucket list you can start to tick off with this win in the bank. If you’ve played, please check your tickets and get in touch if you think you’re a big winner.”

Carter naturally urged lottery players to have a quick look at their own tickets, as many people end up playing out of habit but forget about following up.

The spokesperson also talked about the impact that lottery games have on the UK, with about $43 million (GBP 32 million) raised for various charity projects every week.

While only a single winner has won, the jackpot for Saturday has been set at $5.11 million again.
