One player in Texas has much to be happy about, after they claimed a $3-million prize from a popular lottery game – the eponymous $3 Million Ca$h. The win was publicized by the Texas Lottery Commission, which has faced fierce pushback from lawmakers and was voted into dissolution last week.

However, the regulator will continue to operate for another four years, after a last-ditch amendment to the original proposal pulled it from the brink. Players have been happy to snap up tickets, none the wiser about the legal bickering going on.
This is precisely what happened in the case of the mystery winner who grabbed the top prize from the game, after purchasing the ticket and claiming the reward on Monday, May 28. The player had spent $30 on purchasing the ticket, fetching him a very decent “return on investment.”
The game is also popular because any losing ticket may still fetch participants a reward – losing tickets are entered in an additional drawing that can send them on a trip to Europe. However, players need to enter in the drawing themselves by using the Luck Zone feature of the Texas Lottery app.
Lottery Winners Keep Grabbing Headlines in Texas
This is not the only big win, however, as previously, a person also won $3 million in Texas, playing the 500X Loteria Spectacular. In total, the Texas Lottery has generated $41 billion in revenue to the state, about $2 billion a year.
This is why its dissolution was cancelled despite the high-profile scandal that rocked the lottery.
A woman won a $83.5-million jackpot through a courier app, which brought back memories of a European syndicate taking advantage of the lottery which set chain of events that culminated with a bill that has been passed and now seeks to completely dismantle the regulator, transferring its powers to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
