Steve Wynn has been in and out of the public eye, with the legendary billionaire mostly keeping to himself in the wake of a high-profile sexual assault scandal that marred his reputation and led to Nevada banning him from the state’s gaming business.
Wynn withdrew and became more private, but he has been recently posting on his Instagram, recapping some of Las Vegas’ most iconic moments, many of which he brought to bear himself, and also joking about his newfound tech savviness.
Wynn Jokes About Opening a New Casino as Per His Friends’ Request
Wynn built multiple breathtaking and game-changing properties, among which are the Treasure Island, The Mirage, the Bellagio, Wynn Las Vegas, and Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, all of which have come to shape the way we experience entertainment in Las Vegas, and more or less coined the modern “casino resort” property, spending lavish amounts to bring extraordinary luxury to everyday people.
Now, Wynn has been posting on his Instagram more frequently than before, and the octogenarian shared that he has been asked by friends to potentially look into building one more property, his legacy.
While ousted from Nevada, where he agreed to pay $10 million as part of a settlement, Wynn could look into Texas, which has been equivocating over allowing land-based casino properties.
The casino mogul is not out of Nevada completely either, as he can have 5% in a publicly-traded company in Nevada, which is licensed to conduct gaming operations.
Wynn’s most recent project, the Wynn Boston, had to be renamed from its original name, shortly before it was completed, to the Encore Boston Harbor.
This was done as Massachusetts’ gaming regulator insisted that the Wynn name be scraped from the property amid the ongoing at the time scandal, which alleged Wynn had sexually assaulted multiple women.

He was never convicted and settled some cases out of court, denying wrongdoing. However, regulators could never look past the allegations, barring him from entry back into the gaming mainstream.
At 83, has become a little more tech savvy, and he is not shy of letting us know what his next plans would be. Whether a new opulent property comes to be is anyone’s guess.
The man’s legacy lives on, however, as his former company – Wynn Resorts – is now tipped to open the Middle East’s first casino resort, inspired no less by Wynn himself.
