Scientific Games (SG) has been expanding its business operations at a rather decent pace, too. We have seen the company tie-up a partnership with Kindred and move onto the U.S. market in a bid to deliver excellence and raise the standards for the entire iGaming industry. And now, the company has appointed its new Executive Vice President (VP).
Going from a Business Giant to a Behemoth
The appointment of SG’s latest EVP is no surprise. With the U.S. forays, the company will need an increasing number of adept leadership at the highest tier. Now, James Sottile has joined the ranks of the company under the direct leadership of SG CEO Barry Cottle, and he will be offering legal advice.
The endorsement of Sottile is no chance occurrence either. According to the official statement released by the company and announcing his addition to the executive family, Sottile has over 30 years of experience from across different industries, which has certainly gives him an important insight into how business should run.
Sottile will be directly working on helping SG achieve its strategic goals, but also make sure that business targets are goal met from their purely financial standpoint. Sottile is replacing the current VP, David Smail, who will take another position within the company.
Looking into the background of Sottile, he is just wrapping up a stay with law firm Jones Day, which also gives him the valuable insight SG needs to succeed in the changing market of US regulations.
SG is adamant about pushing its operations in the New World by way of partnering with iGaming companies, land-based casinos, and organizations that profess commitment to the security and fairness of customers in the industry.
The Man Himself Is Excited
Speaking on his own part, Sottile outlined that the opportunity afforded to him by SG was something he has log wanted to do. He highlighted the leadership of the company’s CEO and reminded that SG is in fact a global leader in the Gaming and Lottery business. His exact statement went:
I am excited by the opportunity to lead Scientific Games’ global legal organization and work with Barry and his leadership team to ensure the Company continues its global leadership in Gaming and Lottery and is successful in its efforts to drive innovation and benefit all key stakeholders.
Even though Sottile is not a gamer himself, his passion for new experiences and creating “winning teams,” seems like a sufficient motivation to develop an offer that will stand out.
Back to Scientific Games itself, the company has been doing well after reporting a net loss in 2017. It has continued to expand its operations, notably with the Louisiana lottery. With the addition of Kindred, the company is in fact well-poised to promote safe gambling practices unperturbed.
Naturally, SG expects to capitalize on its track record of excellence and make a difference in the lives of its clients helping them attain the desired results while continually expanding the scope of their operations. Mr. Sottile is an excellent choice indeed.
