Does Serbia Stand a Chance?
Serbia has some really good players on the roster, but you never know with this team. Sometimes they put on a fantastic performance against big favorites only to go on to lose to underdogs. For example, they played a friendly game with Russia and got hammered 4-0. However, in their most recent friendly, they beat Sweden 3-0.
Aleksandar Mitrovic and his Al Hilal teammate Sergej Milinkovic-Savic scored a goal each, while their third goal was the work of Fenerbahce’s Dusan Tadic. These guys are arguably Serbia’s best players, but many fans believe they’re past their prime.
However, there are a couple of rising stars on this roster that we could see shine in Germany. One of those is Dusan Vlahovic, one of Juventus’s best players who’s yet to establish himself as a crucial player in the Serbia national team. The same goes for Lazar Samardzic from Udinese, Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina, and a few others.
Is England Really Ready to Bring the Trophy Home?
In the previous Euro, England finished second after losing the penalty shootout to Italy. Most of the players from England’s starting XI in the Final were guys in their early 20s. Now, those guys are three years older, with plenty of experience playing in the Premier League and other top European leagues.
With Phil Foden, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, and others, the Three Lions look incredibly dangerous offensively. That’s why it’s kind of surprising that they failed to score against Iceland last weekend. However, it was a friendly game, while the one with Serbia is of huge importance for this team.
