Scientific Games announces that it has wrapped up its upgrade of Lotto New Zealand’s land-based and digital operations. This process has greatly modernized the lottery, setting it up for further growth.

SG Aligns Lotto New Zealand to the Modern Age

Per the agreement, Scientific Games overhauled Lotto New Zealand’s digital platform, as well as its retail operations across 1,100 lottery retailers in the country.

Among other things, Scientific Games leveraged its Momentum ecosystem to arm the lottery with the advanced SYMPHONY central gaming system. At the same time, WAVE Contour retail point-of-sale terminals have been deployed across many Lotto New Zealand shops.

Scientific Games added that it teamed up with Datacom, a leading IT consultancy and longtime Lotto New Zealand partner. Datacom was instrumental in the rollout of the terminals, and will provide data center hosting services for the central system infrastructure, as well as field services, maintenance and repair.

Scientific Games has further empowered Lotto New Zealand through its PAM player account management system and advanced logistics supported by the supplier’s patented SciTrak technology and gem|Suite lottery retail management system.

Last but not least, Scientific Games implemented the SG Content Hub into Lotto New Zealand, greatly diversifying the lottery’s product offering with games from SG Studios and other SG partners.

The overhaul of New Zealand’s lottery was a complex process that took two years of planning to ensure that everything would go smoothly. Now underpinned by SG’s cutting-edge tech, the lottery is poised to grow both its online and retail businesses, while remaining true to its ethos of providing safe games and contributing money back to local communities.

Lotto New Zealand Looks Forward to Innovating

Scientific Games’ chief executive officer, Patrick McHugh, praised Lotto New Zealand’s leadership for their future-forward vision.

The technology upgrade for Lotto New Zealand was truly a global effort and inspiring for the many projects currently underway for Scientific Games lottery customers around the world.
