Resorts World Las Vegas and robotaxi company Zoox have announced a collaboration that will see both sides shape the future of hospitality and travel in the city.

Zoox to Provide Its Autonomous Taxi Services to Resorts World

After making history as the first company to deploy a purpose-built robotaxi on public roads in Las Vegas, Zoox has now become the first rideshare provider of its kind to form an official partnership with a Las Vegas resort. Through this collaboration with Resorts World, Zoox aims to enhance the guest experience by offering rides in its distinctive four-passenger robotaxi, designed without a steering wheel or pedals, to help visitors explore other parts of the Las Vegas Strip.

According to an official statement by Zoox, the company delivers a premium transportation experience through its cutting-edge robotaxis. They are designed to offer a more comfortable and distinctive way to navigate and discover all that Las Vegas has to offer. As part of the partnership with Resorts World, Zoox will have a dedicated, branded pickup and drop-off location at the resort. The collaboration also includes additional on-site opportunities, such as a unique experiential activation within the resort grounds.

However, one caveat relates to the fact that Zoox has not yet launched its commercial service for paid public rides in Las Vegas. This means that those interested in riding must first join the company’s Explorer program. This invite-only initiative allows selected participants to experience the Zoox robotaxi at no cost and share their feedback.

Zoox plans to roll out its robotaxi service to the broader public in Las Vegas later this year. As mentioned before, it’s not going to be the first time that the company tries to roll out its system in the city. It has already operated for some time, but earlier this month, Zoox had to recall its taxi fleet following an investigation into a crash between one of the company’s self-driving vehicles and another passenger car.

Officials Seem Very Positive About the Deal

Despite the previous setbacks, Zoox seems quite optimistic about the future of the current collaboration. Michael White, Chief Product Officer, Zoox, said that the two companies share a mutual commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. Riders using Zoox’s service will discover a level of comfort and innovation that reflects the signature hospitality associated with Resorts World’s portfolio of premium brands. Through this partnership, the two companies aim to elevate the overall guest journey, enhancing the Las Vegas experience with personalized, next-generation mobility.

Carlos Castro, CFO of Resorts World, shared this optimism. He explained that the collaboration with Zoox underscores the resort’s dedication to embracing technology that enhances guest experiences and service offerings. By incorporating Zoox robotaxis into its transportation network, Resorts World is not only expanding mobility options for visitors but also contributing to Las Vegas’s reputation as a global leader in innovation.
