PokerStars is returning with the Winter Series in 2018 yet again. The 16-day festival will feature a total of 60 events and more than $80 million in guaranteed prizing money. It’s a bit of warmth in the cold of December and no mistake.
PokerStars Announces the Winter Series Schedule for 2018
The Winter Series are one of the crowning events of 2018. They feature a number of great competitive titles that promise to keep participants entertained and those individuals of particular poker merit – with pockets well-lined. This year, the event is a significant leg-up on the 2017’s edition.
Winter Series returns on @PokerStars this month with the first event starting 23 December.

The Winter poker madness is about to begin. Scheduled for December 23, 2018 we already have the full list of events that will continue throughout January 7. The prize pools are quite substantial, indeed.
Specifically, the Winter Series will come with $40 million money guarantee, but as part of the same festival, there will be other competitions worth $45 million, which will contribute to the eye-popping $85 million in cumulative winnings.
Spread across 60 separate events the competitions will have a number of excellent options. You can compete for as little as $5,000, but there will be events such as the Low: $11 NLHE [Phase 2], $1M Gtd, which promise you to bag as much as $1 million in guaranteed money.
The list of events features multiple six-figure prize pools, ranging from 250,000 to $375,000, to $500,000. The $1 million threshold will also be easily exceeded by the High: $2,100 NLHE [8-Max, Main Event], $1.5M Gtd which will take place on January 6, 2019, also part of the festival.
A True Christmas Miracle
The variety of events will offer poker aficionados an honest shot at big prizes. However, PokerStars doesn’t intend to force anyone into spending any substantial amounts. The buy-ins are just as generous, and you can start playing for the big sums in exchange for as little as $0.55.
There will be the occasional larger tournaments, as the high-roller competitions will expect to you to deposit between $500 and $2,100 to participate in those, but you needn’t worry about money.
If you are eager to get poker action right now, there will be a number of satellite events going for as little as $2.50 right now and you can access them to distinguish yourself and join right into the competitive fray. If you are in a hurry to join in the season’s festivities, you needn’t allocate much time to PokerStars either, as the card room has prepared a number of turbo and hyper-turbo pow-wows for you to enjoy.
We hope that they will enjoy the schedule that we concocted for them, with more than $85 million guaranteed across the whole of PokerStars during the Series, including $40 million thanks to the Winter Series alone – PokerStars Head of Innovation Severin Rasset
Quite simply, you can join the competitive fray at once, bag the money and be out before New Year’s. But if you choose to stick a little while longer, there will be many events that will pay off handsomely.
As Mr. Rasset has pointed out in the official statement, PokerStars are hopeful that everyone will come and enjoy the opportunities to finish 2018 or even start 2019 a bit richer.
