India currently has a population of 1.3 billion, but of course, not everyone is old enough to play or will want to spend their money betting on online games. In fact, legislation is in place that requires permits for money wagering in online poker rooms. People also have to live in certain Indian states because not all of them have the same legislation. GLaws, a gambling news site, says PokerStars is going to host a freeroll for ten lakhs on the 22nd, just five days after their official opening.
PokerStars India Website
PokerStars is offering both mobile and desktop versions of their software. They also confirmed the option of classic games like Sunday Million and the World Championship of Online Poker or WCOOP. The full list of games has not been shared; however, one can expect Texas Hold’em, and Omaha games will be provided. The site will accept rupees to make it easier for those who have permission to gamble to set up an account.
Skill games are the major offerings at PokerStars according to the press release from PokerStars. Numerous people in India do not believe in gambling, which is one reason some states do not offer legislation of such entertainment. It is also the reason that “skill” games like poker are being offered versus slot machines that spin the wheel and rely on luck to earn you money. Games like Spin and Go will most likely not be a part of the offerings at the Indian poker casino.
PokerStars April 17, 2018, launch date is highly anticipated by the companies bringing it to India. If the company is successful, more offerings may occur or more states may see that they will to add legislation.
