Milton Keynes is bracing to welcome a premium gaming destination as Merkur Casino prepares to open its newest property in the English city. The new venue will go live on November 1, providing locals with premium gaming opportunities.
Merkur to Enhance Milton Keynes with New Casino
The new Merkur Casino will open inside Xscape Milton Keynes on Saturday, November 1. The 22,000-square-foot property will feature a 1,367-square-meter gaming floor with some 72 slot machines, 26 electronic roulette terminals and 15 table games.
In addition to a plethora of gaming options, fans will be able to sit at the venue’s 4,700-square-foot bar for a drink or experience a live event at the property’s dedicated event area.
The new Milton Keynes property was described as a major investment for Merkur and a significant opportunity for the city’s economy. In addition to creating some 100 new jobs, the new property is expected to bolster the local tourism, entertainment and nightlife.
The new casino will celebrate its opening with festivities that will be attended by a variety of dignitaries and journalists, as well as influencers, celebrities and performers. Fans can also look forward to a GBP 10K giveaway.
Merkur Wanted to Create a Local Entertainment Landmark
Merkur Casino UK’s chief operating officer, Mark Schertle, commented on the launch of the new Milton Keynes casino, calling it an important milestone, considering that the company’s UK HQ is based in the same city.
Schertle added that his team’s goal with the new casino was to create an outstanding venue for gaming and live entertainment.

Dan Murphy, the center director of Xscape Milton Keynes, also commented on the matter, welcoming the new property. Murphy noted that the casino had always been a highlight of Xscape and that he is happy to see it return under new ownership.
