A lucky winner in Ohio has won $2 million from the lottery. Unlike many of his peers, they went with the annuity option and will receive their prize in multiple installments over more than two decades.

The Winner Preferred the Annuity Option

The winner bought a $30 Royal Riches scratch-off ticket while taking a trip to the Village Drive Thru. This lucky outing resulted in a mouth-watering prize of $2 million.

As mentioned, the winner chose the annuity payments option rather than the lump sum, meaning that they will receive installments of $80,000 a year for 25 years before federal and state tax withholdings.

The Ohio Lottery said that the winning ticket was sold at the Village Drive Thru, located at 15 South 2nd Street in Ripley. The store is set to receive a $20,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The lottery added that, as of September 12, there were 5 top prizes remaining. In addition of that, there are multiple other prizes, with the odds of winning one being 1 in 3.95.

Other Ohio Lottery Players Win Big Prizes

At approximately the same time, the Ohio lottery announced that a $500,000 top prize win on the $500,000 Bankroll Scratch-Off has been claimed in Trust. The Winner Trust will receive $360,000 after state and federal taxes.

The winning ticket was sold at Speedway #3670, located at 6601 Monroe St. in Sylvania.

The lottery also announced that another Ohio Lottery player had matched all five numbers except the Lucky Ball in the Lucky for Life game. This success netted the winner a prize of $25,000 a year for life. As of the time of the announcement, however, the winner had yet to claim their winnings.
