The winner, whoever they are, bought the ticket at 7-Eleven at 1601 W. Nerge Rd. in Elk Grove Village, and successfully predicted the winning numbers – 4, 24, 28, 31, and 42. The venue is also getting a slice, as the lottery will pay the customary bonus for selling the ticket.
In this case, the bonus amounts to $8,000. The winner now has a year from the draw to claim their prize, and may opt for an annuity option or scoop the prize outright as a lump sum.
Lucky Day Lotto prizes have been dropping throughout the year, with another jackpot winner announced at the end of July, when a player won $500,001, having played 18, 22, 28, 29 and 32 as the winning numbers for the Monday, July 27 midday drawing.
Just a month earlier, a man from Chicago claimed a $1.3-million jackpot from the game. He posed as “It’s my Lucky Day!” when taking the customary photo with the oversized check, but preferred to remain anonymous.
More recently, on Monday, August 17, another player from Springfield managed to scoop a $550,000 Lucky Day Lotto win.
Jackpots like this continue to drop in Illinois, with the lottery also recently witnessing another historic win – a $1.04-billion jackpot secured from the Powerball locally.
