Liverpool vs. Arsenal is arguably the most interesting game of Gameweek 3 of the 2025-26 English Premier League (EPL). This is a duel between last season’s winner and the runner-up, and as such, it’s bound to be exciting. We predict the match will see plenty of goals, just like last season’s two duels between these two, both of which ended in a 2:2 draw.

When, Where, and How to Watch?

  • Place: Anfield in Liverpool, England
  • Date: Sunday, August 31, 2025
  • Time: 11:30 a.m. ET

Liverpool Seen as Narrow Favorites

The Reds are 2-0-0 in the EPL with wins over Bournemouth and Newcastle. In Round 1, they defeated Bournemouth 4:2 at home, with goals by four different players: Hugo Ekitike, Cody Gakpo, Federico Chiesa, and Mohamed Salah.

In the 3:2 win over Newcastle at St. James Park, the scorers for Liverpool were Ryan Gravenberch, Hugo Ekitike, and 16-year-old wunderkind Rio Ngumoha, who scored the winner in the 10th minute of stoppage time.

Obviously, the Reds have an incredible offense in 2025, so they’ve got nothing to worry about. But what about their defense? Well, they did concede a total of five goals in the first two matches, which isn’t great.

This goes especially given that Bournemouth isn’t quite an offensive powerhouse, and that in the game with Newcastle, the Magpies had 10 men on the field for the entire second half – but still managed to find the net twice.

Arsenal Coming to Anfield for All Three Points

The Gunners look really good at the moment. Same as The Reds, they too are 2-0-0, but they’ve been way more impressive. In Round 1, they defeated Manchester United at Old Trafford, with Riccardo Calafiori scoring the only goal in the match.

They really upped their offense in Round 2 against Leeds at home. The final score was 5:0, with two assists by Calafiori, and two goals scored by Justin Timber and Victor Gyokeres each, as well as one by Bukayo Saka.

Now, they’re taking on Liverpool at Anfield, which is where they’re without a single win since 2012 when Lucas Podolski and Santi Cazorla scored for a 2:0 victory.

Liverpool vs. Arsenal Prediction

We think the time has come for Arsenal to finally grab a win at Anfield. The Gunners look great in all aspects of the game right now, which cannot be said about Liverpool. The Reds just haven’t been impressive despite winning their first two games of the season.
