Juventus In Goal-Scoring Mood Since Coming to America
Juventus are sitting at the top of the table in Group G even though they have the same number of points as Manchester City. They also have the same score differential (+8), but Juve have scored one goal more so far.
They defeated Al Ain 5:0 in the opening round. Then, in the second round, they beat Wydad 4:1. Four different Juve players scored goals – Kenan Yildiz scored three, Randal Kolo Muani and Francisco Conceicao two goals each, while Dusan Vlahovic currently has one goal to his name. On top, one of Juventus’ opponents also scored an own goal.
Scoring so many goals isn’t something Juve’s fans are used to. In fact, before coming to America, the last time we saw this team score more than three goals was back in February.
FIFA Club World Cup Odds Heavily Favoring Man City
Oddsmakers think Manchester City will win this game. Why? Mainly because the Cityzens’ form seems to be improving. They started their CWC campaign with a 2:0 win over Wydad but then demolished Al Ain 6:0.
The first game saw the return of midfielder Rodri whose absence is what many believe was the reason behind Man City’s somewhat disappointing campaign in the English Premier League. But he’s back now and is in great form. In the second game of the tournament, we saw him record an assist.
Still, it’s his colleague from the midfield – Ilkay Gundogan – who’s been impressing all around. Erling Haaland has also been great and so have most of their teammates. Man City’s defenders deserve special praise – they haven’t conceded a single goal (yet).
Juventus vs. Manchester City Prediction
We think this is going to be a real thriller, with goals on both ends. Both teams are playing amazing soccer, charging at opposition goal rather than defending. Still, we do think Man City is the better of the two.
