MLS Odds Favor Inter Miami
Inter Miami hit a sort of rough patch in April, putting on a couple of mediocre performances in the MLS. It all started with a 1:1 draw with Toronto FC at home, followed by a 0:0 draw with Chicago Fire on the road in the next round.
They got back on the winning track with a 1:0 win over Columbus Crew in an away game, showing that they’re championship material. But then, in their final MLS game of April 2025, they lost 4:3 to FC Dallas at home.
It sounds bad, but there’s a caveat – Lionel Messi and most other Inter Miami’s key men were given a day off by coach Javier Mascherano. With what’s practically Inter’s B-squad, they managed to give war to FC Dallas.
Messi & Co. are expected to make an MLS comeback on May 3, so expect the Herons to play much better than the last time around.
New York Red Bulls Love Playing Against Inter Miami
There have been 10 Inter Miami vs. NY Red Bulls games so far, and the boys from the Big Apple won six of those. Their most recent win happened some 13 months ago when we saw them score four goals while keeping a clean sheet.
Playmaker Lewis Morgan scored three of those goals and took part in the action leading to the fourth. Unfortunately for the New Yorkers, he probably won’t play on May 3, the reason being a knee injury that has kept him sidelined for more than two months already.
There are some reports that the injury is behind him, but we doubt he’ll be able to spend too much time on the field straight away. On the bright side, NY Red Bulls have several other dangerous players on the roster, most notably, Emil Forsberg and their 2025 addition, Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Both teams are offensive powerhouses, so expect to see plenty of goals on May 3. Still, given that Inter Miami have Lionel Messi to lead them, it’s almost certain they’ll be the ones to score more goals.
