It has been 27 weeks since the current season of the English Premier League started. By taking a look at the table standings, we can deduce a few things, which are as good as facts. There is no doubt that Manchester City is going to win the league, thereby, the team will qualify for the Champions League. With City qualifying, that means another three spots are open for Premier League teams to join them in the Champions League. We think that it will come down to 3 of the following teams: Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs or Arsenal.
While some teams are at the top of the log and are trying to qualify for the Champions League, there are other teams that are at the bottom of the league trying to stay in the Premier League. Those teams are West Brom, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Southampton, Newcastle, Swansea, Stoke and Huddersfield.
The Other Teams
Ever since Harry Kane was a small boy, he played football at the Arsenal Academy. Unfortunately for Kane, Arsenal did not see any potential in him at the time, and Kane did not end up playing for Arsenal. I am sure it is a decision that Arsenal now regrets. Kane still holds resentment toward Arsenal for not picking him to play at the top level. Instead of playing for Arsenal, Kane went to play for Tottenham Hotspurs, who face Arsenal on Saturday. Kane has scored six goals against Arsenal in the last six matches and will be looking to inflict more punishment on Arsenal as retribution.
The last time Spurs lost was in December last year, when Manchester City pounded them with a 4-1 defeat. Arsenal will be in top form, as usual, even though the team does not always win. One of its main players, Theo Walcott has departed to Everton, but he has been replaced by Henry Mkhitaryan.
One of the teams that may end up in the top four is Chelsea. The team may qualify for the Champions League. Chelsea, apart from Manchester United, is the only team to have defended the Premier League title. Roman Abramovich should be thrilled to be the owner of such a fantastic team, but is he? He does not seem to be satisfied with the current coach, Antonio Conte, who has lost the last two matches to Bournemouth and Watford. Chelsea will go up against West Brom, who have won only three matches the whole season.
