DraftKings and Atlantic City’s Resorts Casino Sign Deal

Back in January DraftKings announced new headquarters. Today, they are announcing their deal with Atlantic City’s Resorts Casino.

DraftKings is known for sports betting information and their online sportsbook. The fact that the company has signed a deal after the US Supreme Court overruled a Federal decision regarding sports betting shows that Atlantic City is already in the process of making it possible to place wagers on sports.

The US Supreme Court decision is allowing New Jersey to get what they want and DraftKings was right there to make a deal with resort-casinos in Atlantic City to help the state realize its dream.

DraftKings is behind the biggest daily fantasy sports operation and now they are getting a sports betting deal set with Resorts Casino Hotel. The Friday announcement is all about ensuring people know they are going to have web and mobile-based services that offer sports betting products via DraftKings. The company has not stated who the sportsbook platform will hail from, but that they are going to offer more than Daily Fantasy Sports options now that the laws have changed.

The company has also not announced when the sports product will be available. However, the indicated it will be provided to fans before the NFL season starts in September.

DraftKings and Headquarters

The DraftKings Company has an office in New Jersey. But, there are still some hurdles they need to jump through. New Jersey might be ready to pass a law for sports betting, but it is not happening yet. The Daily Fantasy Sports Company also needs to get a gaming license through New Jersey to make things happen. It does not mean they are slowing their progress. In fact, they want residents and visitors to the state to know they are coming with Sportsbook. The billboards are up.

Jason Robins, who is the CEO of DraftKings, stated that the company is ready to go. The minute the regulators provide the license and the law that allows sports betting his company is there. They are hoping for approval as early as next week. Governor Phil Murphy is also moments away from signing the law.

Morris Bailey, the resort’s owner, said that DraftKings is a dynamic brand and he welcomes the company into his slice of the market. The pairing is going to work wonderfully together to ensure that people can wager on the teams they love.

FanDuel is also merging with Paddy Power to get ready for the New Jersey change.
