Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino Opens Smoke-Free Venue  

The Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians has added a new smoke-free section to its flagship Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino. The new venue has been described as a standalone casino called the Acorn Casino.

The Tribe Adds a Smoke-Free Venue to Its Flagship Resort

The Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino in California has added a new smoke-free venue to its offering. Called the Acorn Casino, the new addition is now the property’s largest smoke-free area.

According to Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians representatives, Acorn Casino’s launch is a direct response to the growing demand for smokeless gaming options. The tribe was happy to oblige and has therefore created this new gaming space, which spans some 6,000 square feet.

With the launch of the Acorn Casino, the Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino’s total gaming offering has been expanded to 2,000 slot machines and 45 gaming tables.

Officials celebrated the launch of the new smoke-free venue. Deann Kamalani, the chair of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians’ tribal council, said that the Acorn casino has been designed around the preferences of the casino’s customers.

Tribes Are Expanding Their Gaming Businesses

In other tribal gaming news, the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe just advanced its plans to expand its gaming business by developing a full-fledged casino resort in Leggett, Texas. The development is an expansion of the tribe’s existing facility and has been labeled as one of the top hospitality projects in the region.

Speaking of which, The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma is currently pouring some $140 million into a project that would expand and modernize its Choctaw Casino & Resort in Pocola.

Additionally, the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation recently filed a federal lawsuit in an attempt to to halt Kansas Lottery operations on its land.
