A man from Bridgeport has won big playing with the Connecticut Lottery (CT Lottery). The lucky player, who was identified as Shelley Suttles, said that he was so excited that he almost passed out.

The Man Won the Game’s Final $1M Prize

According to the CT Lottery’s official announcement, the man in question bought his ticket while running a few quick errands. After finishing the rest of his shopping, Suttles, being a regular lottery player, decided to buy a ticket at checkout, only to win a prize of a million dollars.

The CT Lottery clarified that the man had purchased an Ultimate 7s scratch game ticket.

In an interview with the lottery, Suttles said that he will never forget the quick errand that netted him a million-dollar payout. He said that he almost passed out when he learned how much he had won.

I scratched off the box and saw a million dollars. I’ve never seen a million dollars on a ticket before. I picked up the phone and told my sister, and she started screaming. She couldn’t believe it either.

It was the quick errand that Shelley Suttles will never forget. He said that he plans to use the money to pay off some bills and donate to his local church.

For context, the winning ticket was sold at Grand Package Store on Main St. in Bridgeport. The lottery added that, as a CT Lottery retail partner, the store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Suttles, however, is no stranger to big wins. According to the lottery, he had won a $100,000 prize earlier this year playing Cash5.

The lottery added that Suttles’ $1 million prize was the final Ultimate7s jackpot. As a result, the game will now be ended. Lottery officials urged players to redeem all winning tickets before March 29, 2026.
