Bayern Munich vs. RB Leipzig is a matchup that’s historically always been interesting, with plenty of goals. For example, in their last five duels, we saw a total of 22 goals. That accounts for 4.4 goals per game on average.
We expect to see something similar in the August 22 game, especially given that both teams have been in goal-scoring mode in the games leading up to the 2025-26 Bundesliga.

Bayern Munich Look Ready for a Big Season
Bayern Munich is a German soccer powerhouse that’s practically always the No. 1 favorite to win the Bundesliga. The same is the case ahead of the 2025-26 season, which is no surprise given that their roster looks phenomenal.
Most of their key men from the previous season – in which they won the trophy – are still on the team. The most notable departure is Thomas Muller, who moved to America, but truth be told, despite being a club legend, he wasn’t among Bayern’s key men last season.
Kingsley Coman also left the club, making Saudi Arabia his new home. But Bayern’s management brought in a replacement – ex-Liverpool winger, Luis Diaz.
The Colombian seems to have fitted in great with the rest of the squad, the evidence being that he scored a goal in the 2:1 win over Stuttgart in the German Super Cup Final last Saturday. The other Bayern goal was the work of Harry Kane, who seems to be in top form right now.
Big Changes in RB Leipzig Roster Ahead of 2025-26 Bundesliga
During the offseason, RB Leipzig sold Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United for roughly $90 million. They used that money to make new signings, bringing in a number of talented players. They spent over $15 million on each of the following transfers:
- Arthur Vermeeren (midfielder) from Atletico Madrid
- Yan Diomande (forward) from Leganes
- Romulo Cardoso (forward) from Goztepe
- Johan Bakayoko (forward) from PSV
- Ezechiel Banzuzi (forward) from Leuven
- Andrija Maksimovic (midfielder) from Crvena Zvezda Belgrade
These guys are all in either their teens or early 20s, meaning that RB Leipzig’s management is planning for the future. But what about the 2025-26 season?
They probably won’t shine straight away. Instead, the Red Bulls will have to continue to rely on their veterans like Peter Gulacsi, Willi Orban, Lukas Klostermann, Kevin Kampl, and others.
Bayern Munich vs. RB Leipzig Prediction
The most recent Bayern Munich vs. RB Leipzig duel ended in a 3:3 draw. We expect to see goals galore once again, but we don’t think the game will be tied in the end. Instead, we expect a demolition job by the home team.
