After a one-year partial break, the most popular event of the 21st century returns to the Bahamas. Players will determine whether this long-considered “major” tournament will return to its former glory.

The tournament is set to at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau, and is set to run from 6 – 14 January 2018, with the series kicking off with a Super High Roller Hold‘em, with a buy-in of $100,000, a three-day event with no limits to re-entries. As part of the new Pokerstars Championship tour, the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure was renamed the Pokerstars Championship Bahamas last year. It only drew in 738 players, the lowest since 2006.
Christian Harder was pronounced the main event champion after beating heads-up Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy in a $5,000 buy-in and cashed $429,664. Cliff Josephy had just come off his third place finish in the 2016 World Series of Poker Main Event.

Harder’s winnings was the lowest a main event winner received in a PCA event since its inception in 2004. The inaugural winner, Gus Hansen beat a field of 221, which is the smallest in the history of the tournament, winning $455,780. Since then the PCA has become a favorite stop on the Poker World tour.
