Austria vs. Turkey 2024 Euro Odds, Time, and Prediction

The Austria vs. Turkey odds see Austria as a slight favorite to win the July 2 game. It’s because Ralf Rangnick’s men won Group D, while Vincenzo Montella’s men finished second in Group F. They would’ve finished third (behind the Euros debutant Georgia) if it weren’t for Cenk Tosun’s goal in the 4th minute of stoppage time against 10-men Czech Republic.

Austria Ready to Make History

This is only the second time in Austria’s history that their boys managed to qualify for the round of 16. The first time it happened was in the previous tournament. However, they’ve never played in the quarterfinal. Well, now seems the right time to change that.

The Austrians are favored to beat Turkey, mostly because of their brilliant performances in the group stage. They did very well against the World Cup runner-up France in the opening round. They lost the game 1:0 with the only goal scored by one of Austria’s defenders (Maximilian Wöber).

They bounced back in round 2 with a 3:1 win over Poland. Then, they put on their best performance of the tournament in a 3:2 win over the Netherlands.

Turkey Ready for Battle

In the group phase of the Euro 2024, Turkey beat Georgia 3:1 and Czechia 2:1, while also losing 3:0 to Portugal. It’s an okay achievement, but Montella and his men feel as if they can do more.

The thing is that this team looks pretty decent, with some really talented players throughout the squad. Hakan Calhanoglu is their biggest star, and rightly so. He’s been a true midfield general for Turkey throughout this tournament. Unfortunately, he will have to miss the round of 16 game with Austria.

The Turkey captain picked up his second yellow card of the tournament in the game with the Czech Republic, the result of which is a one-game suspension for the Inter playmaker.

Austria vs. Turkey Prediction

If you compare the players from these two teams, Austria is better in practically every position. This goes especially now that Calhanoglu is out. Plus, the Austrians have a much better coach to lead them.

Former Man United coach Rangnick is widely celebrated as one of the biggest tactical masterminds in Europe and we think he’s going to shush his critics once again with a win on Tuesday.
