Have you ever dreamed of living in an ancient castle while still being near a myriad of casinos to choose from? Well, this could be your chance as metal star Zoltan Bathory has just put his castle-like home near the Strip for sale.

A True Castle of a Home

For those unfamiliar with the metal music space, Bathory is the rhythm guitarist of the heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch (5FDP). The band originates from Sin City and was formed in 2005. Now boasting a 20-year history, 5FDP has had 28 Top 10 singles since 2007.

If Bathory’s Rose Manor in Las Vegas is any indication, the guitarist seems to be quite the enthusiast for darker vintage aesthetics (not unlike many others associated with metal). The property is three stories high and is based on a 17th-century castle in Scotland.

The property’s original owner wanted to keep the unorthodox home as close to the original as possible and even imported the stone from Scotland. When Bathory acquired the home, he renovated the interior and, in some places, opened up the low ceilings to make the castle feel more spacious.

In addition to that, Bathory enhanced the property with several noteworthy additions, including a 17th-century fireplace and old stone gates. He also incorporated a modern kitchen and an elevator that can take you to the roof.

Other features of the Rose Manor include five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a garage able to fit four cars, and a dock on Lake Sahara.

Bathory Enjoyed the Creative Process

Bathory originally bought the property for $3.25 million after the previous owners refused to lend it for a video shoot. However, due to his extensive remodeling and modernization, Bathory is now asking $28 million for it.

Bathory’s decision to sell the home might seem puzzling, considering the six years he spent on renovating it. However, in an interview with metal news outlet Blabbermouth.net, the guitarist provided an insight into his decision:

I’m an artist… and through this process I discovered that as amazing as it is to own something like this, the real thrill for me is in creating it. Designing and building something monumental, something that will outlast me is where the magic is.

Bathory thanked architect Michael Murphy for his cooperation in the renovations and teased that the two are already eyeing other castles to “transform into livable works of art.”
